Salvia Rosmarinus (Rosemary) - this is an herb you should definitely keep in your regular rotation.
Salvia Rosmarinus (Rosemary) - this is an herb you should definitely keep in your regular rotation.

There are many ways people prepare herbs; in my experience most of ways people use are wasteful. A quality organic herb can sell for upwards to $100 and pound! I don't want to see you wasting your precious recourses of money or herbs.

I recommend you start with the following instructions:

Use at least one teaspoon of herbs for every cup of water.

Roots, Bark and Stems should be simmered - DECOCTION

Place herbs in cold water cover and bring to slow boil.

Upon boil immediately cut down heat to simmer the herbs for a minimum of 30 minutes.

(The longer you simmer the stronger the herbs – 45 min to 60 min is recommended)

Leaves and Flowers should be steeped - INFUSION

Bring your water to a boil and cut off the heat,

Place your herbs into the hot water cover and steep for a minimum of 30 minutes

(The longer you steep the stronger the herbs – 45 min to 60 min is recommended)

When you finish your simmering or steeping strain the herbs from the water while they are still warm. Refill any water that has evaporated.
